What approaches to learning are most engaging for this child? If you were teaching something new what would be most likely to stick?

Although there is much debate about whether matching learning style to input produces better learning outcomes there is agreement that teaching a child in a way they find engaging will support motivation.

Auditory (likes listening and music, remembers stories they have heard)

Visual (likes pictures and colour, remembers things they have seen)

Kinaesthetic (likes moving and dance, explores things by touch and action)

Spatial (has good spatial awareness, remembers where things are in relation to other things)

Textual (likes reading about a subject, remembers things they have read)
